The swimming pool, the view from the balcony
Hot water tap has to be run for long time to get any hot water
Spa and swimming pool are not for 4 stars hotel
prezzo, the receptionists.
In the middle of town but in the middle of nowhere all the same. Whole park around the hotel could use some work to preserve the area, which could be very pleasant.
Very dated hotel ,appart from a couple of staff it is a very unfriendly hotel if you ask for anything from the bar you feel that it was a problem ,there is nothing avalible if the bar is shut and no food avalible anytime 2nd visit I do like the location but that about it
A nice hotel with a glance of former glory, back to the communist era. Placed on a hill, quite close to the city center, a 10 min walk down hill, clean and very - willing to help - and hospitably stuff. A very nice swimming pool, with a fresh changing room. Well, they serve a "swedish breakfast" which is ok. That way I choosed to write here and not as a complain. The breakfast is not bad is just that with a little effort and interest from the restaurant stuff it could easily be improved the quality. Very friendly and nice stuff.
Please, stop the music! It is almost a national sickness in the romanian hotels to play loud TV in the restaurants. I find it very disturbing to serve breakfast to the hip pop bits or to some katastrophy played on the news channel. And the funny stuff?! ... No one is watching anyway!
Very good position in town and very good value for the money
Pool under construction - was not advised on the internet page
Very clean, very nice pool and fitness club, the location
The outdated look and atmosfere
The dear staff and clean rooms, nice hotel
It s located into a very nice area and very close to the city center, interest areas and shopping centers. It provides very comfortable rooms, very friendly services a high standard restaurant, not speaking about conference rooms which meet any demands for a business meeting. Briefly, it offers all you need both for a business trip and for a touristic journey, too. I was impressed with the cleaning standard of the hotel and also by its staff very friendly and ready to help with any problem you may have, starting with information and up to direct services. I would be happy to have another opportunity to come to Cluj-Napoca and stay at Grand Hotel Napoca.
Quiet location of top of a hill so also has great views from room balcony.
Breakfast was not great.
Our room was very big - hallway, big bed, balcony and a suitable bathroom. We stayed at the 4th floor. The view of the entire city was breathtaking, especially at night. The hotel is very close to the train station (you can take the cab, it costs ~5ron) and just a 10' or so walk from the city center. Entire room was cleaned daily. Great touch adding the bathrobes. Swimming pool opened 10am - 11pm and not at all crowded. You need a swimming cap (8-10ron from the hotel). We do recommend bringing your own or buying it from elsewhere; their offering represents poor value for money. If you're looking for a fine place to drink coffee or eat, we recommend the Toulouse restaurant - fine prices; do try the spiced coffee and caramelita dessert! Also, try out the terrace on Cetatuia hill overlooking the city (100m or so from the hotel, can't miss it). Bedspread and comforters were heavenly - seriously, one of the best hotel beds I've ever slept in.
Morning buffet was alright but it could use some more variety of fruits and vegetables. Ac wasn't heating. Great thing we had 28-30degrees in september. Bathroom water temperature was very unstable.
Best price/place/quality relation.
Friendliness of the staff and the beautiful scenery of the surrounding area.
Last morning we discovered mouse droppings on our breakfast table, next to the floral middle piece. My advice would be to focus a bit more on housekeeping of the areas not directly exposed to view.
Being a lone female traveler I was a bit dubious about going to a hotel which I had booked on line (and thousands of miles away) for a stay of eleven nights! Also, having looked at some older reviews of the hotel (2008ish) I wondered what to expect. However, I need not have worried. The staff were all very friendly and had a certain amount of English. The bedroom was comfortable and clean, the air-conditioning worked, a beautiful view from the third floor balcony, and breakfast was ideal with choices for all. The swimming pool and sports complex was excellent and very up to date. Thank you to all staff who made my stay so happy and relaxed!
I liked everything!
Breakfast is various and good. You have a hi performance pool to swim, it was very clean and good looking, nice showers, and good spa: wet and dry. Very nice gym. Rooms are nice looking. The position is also a good point in a top of a hill and you have a very nice city viewing.
The bathroom was not 100% clean. No shampoo in the first day. But it was manageable for it's price.
